James McNaught is an Associate Director and Head of Business Development for the UK.

James is both a Property (Surveying) and Art History Graduate from the Aberdeen University and the Univeristy of Glasgow, respectively. James has over a decade experience in professional valuation services and detailed knowledge in all aspects of the Fine and Decorative Arts. 

James oversees all aspects of business development, creating and maintaining our relationships and partnerships across the UK. He has been instrumental in securing and helping secure many notable private collections, most recently Selected Works from the Paisley Art Institute Collection.

James has a passion for the history of collecting and more particularly The History of Collecting. His MLItt dissertation, ‘The McInnes Collection' was written on a mercantile collector in the early 20th century - William McInnes (1868-1944). James has lectured widely on this subject and is working towards further publications.

James works closely with both professional contacts and private clients across the UK to deliver Lyon & Turnbull’s service.
