One of James key strengths is his knowledge and skills in professional valuations services. James received an MA from Glasgow University where he read Collecting and Provenance Research and took Art Law Modules. James is currently working towards a tax qualification.

James has over a decade experience in professional valuation services and detailed knowledge in all aspects of the Fine and Decorative Arts. James has a very wide and expansive network of both private collectors, Institutions and Professional Advisors who he works with across the UK.
In his current role James oversees all aspects of business development, creating and maintaining relationships and partnerships across the UK.
James has been instrumental in securing and helping secure many notable private collections, most recently Selected Works from the Paisley Art Institute Collection.
James has a passion for the history of collecting and more particularly The History of Collecting. His MLitt dissertation, ‘The McInnes Collection' was written on a mercantile collector in the early 20th century - William McInnes (1868-1944). James has lectured widely on this subject and is working towards further publications.
