JamesDSMcNaught

James McNaught is a Fine Art Professional with over 15 years experience working within commercial galleries and prestigious auction houses.  After an undergraduate degree in Real Estate at Aberdeen University James pursued his passion for the Arts and launched himself into an illustrious career with a major UK auction house. 

James's experience has given him the chance to operate across the UK with private collectors, institutions, family offices and professional advisors. In addition, James holds a Diploma in Interior Design, Levels 1 and 2 from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments and an MLitt from the University of Glasgow (Collecting and Provenance). 

 

 James has a proven track record for Collections Management, Fine Art Valuations, Advising HNW Clients and all aspect of Art Advisory.​

James has over a decade experience in professional valuation services and detailed knowledge in all aspects of the Fine and Decorative Arts. James has a very wide and expansive network of both private collectors, Institutions and Professional Advisors who he works with across the UK. 

In his current role James oversees all aspects of business development, creating and maintaining relationships and partnerships across the UK.

James has a passion for the history of collecting and more particularly The History of Collecting. His MLitt dissertation, ‘The McInnes Collection' was written on a mercantile collector in the early 20th century - William McInnes (1868-1944). James has lectured widely on this subject and is working towards further publications.
